LESSON 4: Transportation of firearms 

When it comes to the transportation of firearms in Texas, several important laws and regulations must be followed. To legally transport a firearm in the state, the firearm must be unloaded and secured in a case designed for firearms. It is also illegal to transport a firearm in a vehicle where it is visible to any other person in the vehicle. If a handgun is being transported, it must also be in a concealed manner.

It is illegal to carry a firearm on school grounds without first obtaining a valid CHL from the Department of Public Safety. Furthermore, if an individual is transporting a handgun, they must also be sure to abide by the laws governing the carrying of handguns in the State of Texas, including the duty to inform law enforcement officers of any handgun being carried. 

Finally, when transporting firearms in Texas, individuals must also be aware of and adhere to the laws and regulations of the particular municipality where they are traveling through.
